Rick Carter

Rick Carter (Production Designer) won an Academy Award® in 2013 for his design of Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. In 2010, he received the Oscar for his otherworldly production design on James Cameron’s top-grossing mega-hit Avatar.

Carter earned his first Oscar® nomination for his work on Robert Zemeckis’ Forrest Gump, and was nominated twice more for Steven Spielberg’s War Horse and The Fabelmans.

He has collaborated extensively with Spielberg as a production designer on films including MunichWar of the WorldsA.I. Artificial IntelligenceAmistadJurassic ParkThe Lost World: Jurassic ParkThe BFG, and The Post.

Carter has also been Robert Zemeckis’ production designer of choice on The Polar ExpressCast AwayWhat Lies BeneathDeath Becomes Her, and Back to the Future, Parts II and III.

He co-production designed Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Episode VII and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Episode IX with director J.J. Abrams.
