Celestial Globe Opening Reception
An exclusive evening to celebrate the installation of the Celestial Globe.
Griffith Observatory Foundation is hosting a private reception to celebrate the installation of a new, monumental, and unprecedented exhibit: The Celestial Globe.
The constellations of the Greeks and Romans are an enduring heritage from antiquity, and with a nod to the Farnese Atlas, the oldest known depiction of these constellations, the Celestial Globe spotlights the link between those ancient skies and modern astronomy.
Attendance is by Foundation invitation only. The Celestial Globe will be on permanent display starting January 27, and all are welcome to visit and view this dazzling new exhibit then.
