Griffith Observatory celebrates the installation of a new exhibit: The Celestial Globe. The exhibit spotlights the link between ancient skies and modern astronomy.

On January 27, 2026, the Celestial Globe will be installed and on permanent display in the Gravity’s Stairway at Griffith Observatory. See this monumental and unprecedented new exhibit when it opens!

The constellations of the Greeks and Romans are an enduring heritage from antiquity, and with a nod to the Farnese Atlas, the oldest known depiction of these constellations, the Celestial Globe spotlights the link between those ancient skies and modern astronomy.
