City of Los Angeles COVID-19 Memorial
The City of Angels' COVID-19 Memorial brings together all residents of Los Angeles with Strength and Love to memorialize our collective experience over the last year and a half.
Upcoming City of Los Angeles Events at Griffith Observatory
To memorialize our collective experience over the last year and a half, Los Angeles is coming together with neighbors, friends, loved ones, and fellow Angelenos for Strength and Love, The City of Angels’ COVID-19 Memorial.
For this 3-day virtual event, we will:
HONOR those who held our city together including first responders, essential workers, small businesses owners, community organizations, caregivers, neighbors, and families.
REMEMBER those we have lost due to the pandemic.
MOBILIZE to build a city that is more supportive, united, and resilient than ever.
There are activities scheduled each day of the memorial period (November 18-20). They include nightly activations (at 8:00 p.m.) that you can participate in wherever you are, special building lighting, social media sharing, and an online community archive. Click the link above for the entire schedule.
You can also visit the memorial installation here at the Observatory. White flags have been placed on the front lawn commemorate the lives lost to the pandemic. It can be viewed by the public during the hours Griffith Park is open (5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.).
