Griffith Observatory hosted a public lecture commemorating the 50th anniversary of Gus Grissom's flight.
What Happened to Liberty Bell 7?
Join us for the 50th anniversary of Lieutenant Colonel Gus Grissom’s historic flight aboard Liberty Bell 7. The drama of the mission and post-flight recovery operation will be recounted by Griffith Observatory Astronomical Observer, Anthony Cook, and Griffith Observatory Astronomical Lecturer, Dr. David Reitzel. They will also recall the life and contributions of astronaut Gus Grissom.
