DR. KATY RODRIGUEZ WIMBERLY is an Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy at CSU San Bernardino, specializing in Near-Field Cosmology and galaxy evolution, particularly in ultra-faint dwarf galaxies. Beyond astrophysics, she is deeply committed to mentorship and expanding accessibility in STEM. As Director of Mentorship for the Cal-Bridge Program—a CSU-UC scholarship and professional development initiative—Katy champions a holistic, community-centered approach to academic success. She also serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the 136 year-old organization, Astronomical Society of the Pacific, continuing her mission to connect communities through astronomy. A proud SoCal native, Katy began her academic journey at Mt. San Antonio College, earned her B.S. in Physics from CSU Long Beach, her Ph.D. from UC Irvine, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UC Riverside as a National Science Foundation Math and Physical Sciences-Ascend Fellow.
