All Space Considered – November 2025
Griffith Observatory broadcasts this public program live from the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon Theater on the third Thursday of every month. Join the Observatory's curatorial staff as they examine and explain the most-talked-about subjects in astronomy and space science. It is free to attend in-person or stream on YouTube.

Special Guest
DR. BRYCE BOLIN graduated in 2018 with a Ph.D. in astrophysics from the Université Côte d’Azur under the direction of Dr. Marco Delbo and Dr. Alessandro Morbidelli, where he worked to identify asteroid families older than two billion years. He has used several observatory facilities for his research, including the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System (Pan-STARRS), the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF), the Keck Observatory, the Gemini Observatory, the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), and the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
Researching asteroids and comets with the Pan-STARRS telescope at the University of Hawaiʻi Institute for Astronomy, he inspected the pipeline output for spurious sources caused by various artifacts, helping to discover thousands of asteroids and more than 40 comets. At the California Institute of Astronomy, he used machine-learning methods to identify asteroids and comets in ZTF data, with the goal of pinpointing Earth-approaching and near-Sun asteroids. While working on ZTF, he discovered the first inner-Venus asteroid (594913) ‘Ayló’chaxnim. Recently, he used Keck Observatory, JWST, and HST to study Earth co-orbitals, impacting asteroids, Oort cloud comets, and interstellar objects.
Dr. Bolin is a Research Scientist with Eureka Scientific. He continues to study asteroids, comets, and other interstellar objects that pass through our solar system to better understand solar system evolution. He hopes to one day visit an asteroid (or have one visit us peacefully), to gain more information about them, as these tiny pieces of rock can serve as stepping stones toward understanding the planets and stars.
